Caption on back: "The Mini Carrier USS
Franklin hit by Jap Kamikaze - Seconds before it "blew-Up" and sank to the
bottom - outside Manila Bay - As photographed from West Virginia" The caption on the photo is likely incorrect. This ship looks more like the USS Ommaney Bay which was hit by a kamikaze on January 4, 1945 and later torpedoed by the USS Burns. Contributed by Charles Prazenica |
