USS West Virginia
1940-1941

Leo Bracy was a Pearl Harbor Survivor on the USS West Virginia.
Leo survived the attack, and was transferred to the carrier Lexington which was sunk at the Coral Sea battle. He was then stationed on the newly commissioned D.E. Lamons which survived a large Typhoon that took three large destroyers toward the end of the war. The little ship recorded 57 degree tilts during the storm. Leo left the Navy as a Chief. Leo Bracy was killed in a plane crash on the big island of Hawaii in 1978 where he had retired.

From Leo's grandson Greg.
