USS West Virginia Veteran

Donald D. Bruce, Seaman 1/c, born April 4, 1927, Los Angeles, CA; received BS degree, University of Redlands; and attended Graduate School at UCLA and the University of Redlands. He joined the USN May 5, 1945, and was stationed at the San Diego NTS, USS West Virginia and the USS Indiana.

S 1/c Bruce was discharged Aug. 17, 1946. Awards include the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
He has five children, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was the Alaska State Geologist; chief geologist of WR Grace and Co.; and president of North American Exploration Co. He enjoys fishing and golfing.
