Curtis W. Mikkelson, Platoon Sergeant, born July 8, 1921, Eau
Claire, WI. He entered the USMC Feb. 21, 1942; attended Sea School at
San Diego, CA; and then assigned to the USS West Virginia, Sept. 1,
1942, Co. B, Pit. 267. He was discharged Sept. 22, 1945.
He was
a mechanical engineer in heating, plumbing and air conditioning and
employed by a consulting engineer firm in Minneapolis, MN. He retired
in 1988. He and his wife, Rachel, had three children and six
grandchildren. Curtis passed away April 18, 1995, after a short illness.
