USS West Virginia Veteran

We picked up survivors from the USS Hovey and at the time I did not realize it but we picked up a man from my home town. He was my family doctor and was bandaging my arm after the war when he saw a tattoo USS West Virginia.  He ask when I was aboard and if I remembered taking them aboard and I did. It was Dr. Deppe he said it was to bad we didn't know at that time.
