William Kinsey Irwin, born October 3, 1904, served on USS West Virginia from March 1924 until September 1929.  While aboard, he worked his way from Seaman second class to Gunner's Mate third class.  After leaving the USS West Virginia, he went on to serve on USS Tennessee.  He retired as Chief Gunner's Mate.
