USS West Virginia Veteran

dear sirs:

My father William H. Hitt was Gunner's Mate First Class when he was discharged from the United States Navy.  He was in 7 of the 9 major battles in the Pacific Theatre.  I have grown up listening to his stories, just amazed that he lived through this horrible war, while many men and women have not.  Thank you for bringing my father home safely.

William H. Hitt passed away on May 4, 2004 at the age of 79.
