John Robert "Bob" Farmer, Seaman 1/C, born Aug. 23, 1913, Horton, KS. Education: BS degree in mechnical engineering. He joined the 1st Div. and QM Corps Dec. 19, 1932, and was stationed at San Diego Training Station and in the USS West Virginia.

Memorable Experiences: member of whale boat crew that won two all-Navy races in the same day, first enlistment and selected crews. Discharged Dec. 11, 1936, his awards include two All-Navy Whaleboat Winner Medals.

Employed one year at Pet Milk Co.; five years, US Army Ordnance, stationed in St. Louis, MO, Picatinny Arsenal, Lincoln, NE, Philadelphia, PA and last one and a half years at Pacific Mfg. Co., Cleveland, OH; five years at Industrial Rayon in Paynesfille, OH; and 23 years as staff member at Los Alamo National Labortory in New Mexico. He retired Aug. 31, 1976. Married Una Everett June 11, 1938, and they live in Los Alamos, NM.
