I have a Christmas card (and envelope), addressed to Mr. & Mrs. Frank Severins(?) (of Los Angeles, CA), signed simply 'Doug', but postmarked abord WEST VIRGINIA 5 Dec 1941. My assumption (thus far) has been that 'Doug' was "Douglas Severins" - but have not been able to establish a 'Severins' in any crew listing for WeeVee...can anyone help. My effort is toward completing a postal history exhibit of covers (envelopes) mailed from ship whose homeport was Pearl Harbor, each cover dated between 1 December, 1941, and 7 December, 1941. I have seventeen such covers - would appreciate help in acquiring others to expand the exhibit. [I can be contacted at: pmarche@jps.net]
