I read a few years ago about a ship sunk at Pearl Harbor, where banging from trapped men inside the overturned ship went on for weeks. I thought it was the USS Virginia, but my uncle, who served in the Navy during WWll, says it was the USS Arizonia. Does anyone know the answer, and why rescue personnel couldn't put sand bags at low tide, and torch the trapped men out? My email is bratted@juno.com.
