Request for information: Maurice Michael O’Connor, MM1c, USN, KIA 12/7/1941
I recently found a letter written by my mother, Eleanor Mary (Kimble) O’Connor, around 1943. My Father passed away in 1959 and my Mother passed away in 1984. The letter referred to my father’s brother, Maurice or Michael O’Connor that was killed during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. A check of the National Park Service records reveled that a Maurice Michael O’Connor, MM1c, USN, USS West Virginia, Pearl Harbor, KIA, 12-7-1941. For over 30 years I have searched for my family and this is the closest connection I have found. The first step is to confirm if this Maurice was born in Connecticut between 1916 and 1918.
